Interdependency Analysis:

DoD owns and operates many complex critical assets that rely on a vast array of networks and infrastructure, which are effected as mission requirements emerge and evolve. RMC performs nodal and interdependency analysis using a variety of tools, including Infrastructure Mapping Tool and GeoFidelis. We map these systems, identify single points of failure, and provide actionable recommendations that improves the resiliency for warfighter operations and plans.

Scott Hotaling, CPP

Director, Security/Risk Operations

Mr. Hotaling has over 20 years of experience in the commercial and government sectors, specializing in risk management, infrastructure analysis, critical infrastructure protection, and business continuity. Mr. Hotaling leads RMC’s Risk and Security Division and serves as the Program Manager for the Navy Mission Assurance projects. Hotaling has been at the forefront of the Defense Critical Infrastructure Program and evolution to mission assurance for over 10 years. Hotaling has led a number of programs and teams of subject matter experts conducting complex all-hazard risk assessments at a variety of strategic sites worldwide. As a pioneer in developing risk-based assessments to assure critical infrastructure capabilities, Hotaling’s leadership and unique approach to managing risk has allowed clients to make informed decisions about where to apply limited resources. Clients have commended this approach as a practical and reliable process for making informed risk decisions. Mr. Hotaling has authored a number of risk assessment guides, white papers, training manuals, and federal standards and guidelines.

Prior to his Federal work, Hotaling spent 12 years conducting security, risk-based assessments, and business continuity planning for various Fortune 500 companies and professional sports leagues. Hotaling holds a Bachelors in Forensic Science and Public Justice and has been trained in engineering and modeling (blast and plume effects). Mr. Hotaling has been involved in ASIS International for over 20 years and is Board Certified in Security Management holding the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation since 2001.
